IN A FEW WORDS ...

Image Objects is a series which exists somewhere between physical sculptures and altered documentation images. Each piece begins as a digital file, of which countless variations exist. These are then rendered as UV prints, composing either wall works or free standing works. Each time the pieces are documented officially, the documentation photos are altered to create a new form which does not accurately represent the physical object.

Image Objects is a series which exists somewhere between physical sculptures and altered documentation images.

The viewer’s experience becomes split between the physical encounter setting and the variations of the objects circulated in publications and on the Internet. In the Jardin des Tuileries, the process inverts the idea of public sculpture- -the only faithful representations of the sculpture in photographs are ones that the public takes, and the official documentation looks like the sculpture but includes other layers of abstraction. So the ‘mediated’ images of the object are themselves a primary viewing experience of the work.
