EVA & ADELE
GET ON MY WINGS
Galerie Jérôme de Noirmont at Paris Photo, Carrousel du Louvre, Paris

exhibition release

Participating for the first time in PARIS PHOTO from November 15 to 18, the Galerie Jérôme de Noirmont was glad to present Get on my Wings, an exhibition by the Berliner artists EVA & ADELE, specifically developed for this occasion.

EVA & ADELE who proclaim themselves The Hermaphrodite Twins in Art, had presented their "non living image" for the first time to the public in spring 2000 at the Galerie Jérôme de Noirmont and then had unveiled the wide range of their artistic creation (drawing, painting, photograph, video...). This first personal exhibition offered the opportunity to discover the richness of this "physical and serious" artwork, far away from the sophisticated image given in their appearances-events.

The idea of traveling, which is the original issue of the entity EVA & ADELE, is the basis of their photographs exhibited in Get on my Wings. Thus one of their favorite concepts is "Wherever we are is museum": "We have decided to become art in everyday life, to quit the museum and to go towards the public". To be "on the road" becomes "an allegory of the continuous search of the truth", to offer oneself to the world as to confront art to those who expect it the least. From their very beginning they have established the nomadism as a basic principle and developed the slogan "moving, thinking, doing for the future" as a philosophy. For them it is not the destination that counts but the trip itself or the fact of recognizing oneself as a traveler. It is this aestheticism of traveling that proposes Get on my Wings.
